This truely is a sad day for me as John Hughes has passed away. For those unfamiliar with John Hughes he directed the movies Ferris Buellers Day Off, The Breakfast Club, Sixteen Candles, Weird Science, Planes Trains and Automobiles and Uncle Buck. Not to mention he wrote both Home Alone movies, Mr. Mom, National Lampoons’ Vacation Christmas Vacation and Vegas Vacation, and the Great Outdoors. The man was a legend in every sense of the word. Every movie mentioned above I will never get sick of watching. Ever. Every coming of age movie that is rehashed every year owes itsself to John Hughes. There wasn’t/isn’t a person in the world who hasn’t at least heard of these movies let alone seen them. In my opinion he made some of the most original and influencial movies ever and he will be missed greatly.
